When the Hair Sample Isn’t Enough: The Case for Body/Arm Hair and Nail Testing

When The Hair Sample Isn't Enough: The Case For Body/arm Hair And Nail Testing

Join our LIVE, online training session exploring what to do when a scalp hair sample is unsuitable or unavailable, and when body or arm hair and nail testing may provide an appropriate alternative.

The session will look at how bleaching, dyeing and heat styling can affect drug content in hair, as well as situations where scalp hair may be too short, too damaged or simply not available for testing.

We will also explore the science and detection windows behind body hair and nail testing, how alternative samples can help distinguish active use from passive exposure, and the considerations involved when instructing expert evidence in both private and public law cases.

The session aims to help attendees understand when alternative sample types should be considered, how they can be incorporated into Part 25 applications and instructions, and how appropriate testing can help reduce delay, re-testing costs and the risk of misleading results influencing decisions for children and families.
