Join our LIVE, online training session exploring Novel and New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), emerging trends in substance misuse and the considerations involved when instructing for forensic drug testing.
The session will look at substances including Spice compounds, Pregabalin, Gabapentin and Nitazenes, and whether they are included within standard testing profiles. We will consider the challenges of identifying relevant substances where the drugs of suspicion are not known, without taking a ‘fishing’ approach to testing.
We will also explore emerging substance misuse trends, how testing profiles can be broadened appropriately, and how FTS keeps pace with new substances through the continued development of its analytical methodologies.
The session aims to help legal and child welfare professionals understand the questions to ask when substance misuse is suspected, so that instructions are appropriately targeted and testing covers the compounds relevant to the case.
