Setting the Standard in Sample Collections

At Forensic Testing Service (FTS), we take pride in delivering expert forensic toxicology services across the UK. Our commitment to accuracy, reliability, and professionalism is underpinned by a highly skilled and dedicated team of Forensic Investigation Officers (FIOs).

Every FIO at FTS is a fully qualified and trained phlebotomist with enhanced DBS clearance, ensuring both technical competence and adherence to rigorous safeguarding standards. With extensive expertise and advanced training, our team ensures that every case receives the meticulous attention it deserves.

Unmatched Expertise in Forensic Investigation

Our FIOs are exclusively employed by FTS, bringing over 80 years of combined experience in the medical and healthcare sectors. They adhere to strict protocols for sample collection, ensuring every report prepared meets the exacting standards required in legal and professional contexts.

Specialised Training in Collection Techniques

Our FIOs undergo comprehensive training in interpersonal skills, hair sample collection techniques, and chain of custody documentation. These best practices ensure that every sample is collected, stored, and transported with the utmost care, eliminating the risk of contamination or tampering.

Comprehensive Pre-Appointment Questionnaires

To streamline our forensic investigations, every client completes a detailed pre-appointment questionnaire. This process ensures that we capture essential information in advance, allowing our FIOs to tailor their approach to meet the specific needs of each case. During the appointment, additional details are collected where necessary, ensuring a complete and accurate forensic investigation. At this stage, we also obtain informed consent for all required samples and associated information.

Child Sample Collection Expertise

We specialise in bespoke child sample collection, handling cases with exceptional sensitivity and professionalism. Whether collecting samples from infants just a few days old or attending hospitals to assist in childcare hearings, our FIOs manage these delicate situations with compassion and expertise. This specialised service reflects our commitment to supporting families, legal professionals, and authorities in cases where child welfare is paramount.

Mobile Clinics for Flexible and Safe Appointments

Our FIOs operate mobile clinics in specially adapted unmarked vans. These clinics provide a safe and sterile clinical environment for appointments while offering flexibility in scheduling. Whether at a client’s home, office, or another agreed meeting point, our mobile services are designed to accommodate client needs without compromising professionalism or confidentiality.

Nationwide Coverage

FTS is proud to offer truly nationwide coverage, with our FIOs travelling over 240,000 miles annually to ensure timely and efficient sample collection. From bustling cities to remote rural areas, our team is committed to reaching clients wherever they are.

Secure and Controlled Collection Environments

Our FIOs are also trained to conduct collections in secure and controlled environments, such as prisons. We manage clearance and security checks and, when necessary, work with interpreters to ensure a smooth and successful sample collection process for all clients.

Advanced Body Camera Recording

For added transparency and security, FTS incorporates body camera recording during appointments. This practice reinforces our commitment to accountability, offering clients an additional layer of assurance and maintaining the integrity of our collection process.

Why Choose Forensic Testing Service?

At FTS, we understand that every case is unique and deeply personal. That’s why we prioritise professionalism, empathy, and accuracy in every aspect of our service. From our highly trained FIOs to our flexible mobile clinics and nationwide reach, we ensure that each step of the process is carried out with the utmost care and precision.
