Rapid Response Sample Collection Technician
Reporting to: Head of Customer Experience
Due to business growth we have several exciting and rewarding opportunities for the right candidates to join our business. FTS provides drug, alcohol and DNA testing to support child welfare and legal proceedings as part of a full forensic investigation. Providing the right results and working in the best interest of children is at the heart of everything we do, Our samples are collected via a network of professional collectors who travel in our fully equipped mobile clinics. This role requires an individual who is an experienced phlebotomist, is empathetic and can put our clients at ease. You must be a dedicated and flexible individual, with a passion for working as part of a widespread team. The Collections Team are the client facing side of our business and critical to ensuring our samples are of the best possible quality and that our clients are treated with respect and dignity. You will be responsible for driving and managing your own mobile clinic. Therefore, applicants should be confident at driving a mid size van, and driver training will also be provided.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Ensure samples are collected and paperwork is completed in line with FTS procedures (training provided).
2. All evidential information is recorded accurately, both on paper and online.
3. Ensuring mobile clinic is maintained, cleaned and stocked.
4. Timely attendance at appointments, scheduled by our central team.
Key Tasks
· To collect samples from donors as instructed, including any combination of blood, hair, nail oral fluid or urine samples.
· Accurately record information to support evidential processes including photographs, client declarations and signatures.
· Update internal systems with information after the collection.
· Travel – sometimes at short notice to locations throughout the UK
Core Skills Required
· Phlebotomy trained with at least 24 months experience (Compulsory)
· Basic computer skills
· Confident and personable
· Flexible – able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
· Confident in driving a mid-size van – transit type – driver training can be provided
· Experience in any of the following fields is desirable but not essential – Nursing, Paramedic, Healthcare, Blood bank or Drug and Alcohol Sample Collections
· Current Driving Licence (maximum 3 points)

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift , 5 days per week
- Weekend availability
- Training will be based in West Yorkshire (accommodation will be provided). This may be up to 3 nights per week for a period of 6-8 weeks
- Flexibility to work away from home with overnight accommodation provided, once training is complete (Compulsory)
Full time – 37.5 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday-Friday as standard with some requirement to carry out duties outside of these hours and Saturdays on an occasional rota basis.
